JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Corporate Communications Associate Director is a key member of the Corporate Communications team of storytellers and will primarily support IT officers (approximately 30 Executive Directors and Managing Directors) to develop, refine, and advise on Board and internal committee messaging and presentations.
Additionally, this individual will partner with the Director of IT Internal Communications to understand key objectives for an external audience, aligning with IT strategy, industry drivers, and DTCC corporate messaging.
The incumbent should be highly proficient in distilling complex technical topics into relevant business-centric updates that reflect DTCC's IT and corporate strategies.
This individual will ensure that messaging is aligned with the company's mission, vision, values, priorities, and culture, understanding the perspectives and priorities of the various Board and internal committees in order to drive effective communication strategies and tactics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate your experience as a C-suite and senior executive advisor to partner with IT Officers (approx. 30 individuals) to understand their strategic priorities and lead the development of compelling executive communications, including presentations, for Board and internal committees.
Demonstrate keen ability to synthesize technical topics (e.g., software delivery, cloud, APIs, data and analytics tools, new technologies) and understand how it connects to broader business priorities to build important messages and transform them into clear, business-friendly presentations.
Partner with broader Corporate Communications team (PR, Client, and Executive Communications) to adapt internal messaging for external audiences, build engaging content including videos, client letters, social media posts, and other collateral.
Implement communication plans to advise and engage DTCC Connection (corporate external newsletter) readers and DTCC social media followers using a variety of tactics and messages to support awareness and engagement with IT objectives.
Establish a strong rapport with Chief Information Officer and IT department leads to effectively draft, refine, and format department messaging and executive communications (talking points) that reflect their voice and priorities.
Partner with IT governance professionals to ensure senior leadership content is messaged properly, reflects strategic objectives, and is delivered in accordance with expectations set forth for Board and internal committees.
Help IT senior leadership strategize on the best methods of communicating their messages.
Leverage storytelling skills to ensure technical content is engaging and resonates with an audience that has varying degrees of technical proficiency.
Measure, report and adjust communications activities to improve outcomes as part of the larger Corporate Communications team strategy.
Mitigates risk by following established procedures and supervising controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum of 7 years' experience in a writing, editorial or communications position, preferably in financial services and/or banking. Related experience should include exceptional proficiency in writing and editing across multiple channels, a solid understanding of digital publishing platforms, and a keen eye in presenting and communicating to Boards and committees.
Proficient storytelling skills and proven success with writing a wide range of communications across multiple channels, particularly with executives and external audiences
Ability to interact with subject matter authorities, internal departments, professional agencies and external audiences
