 Orthopedic Technologist 
Type: Temp-to-Hire

Shift: Day Shift (Monday–Friday) — Weekends & Holidays Off
Pay Rate: $32/hr
Distance Requirement: Must live within 45 miles or be willing to relocate

📘 Position Summary
The Orthopedic Technologist provides clinical and technical support to orthopedic physicians and Client in a high-volume outpatient setting. This role includes casting, splinting, patient preparation, documentation, and managing orthopedic equipment. The technologist ensures efficient clinic operations while delivering high-quality orthopedic care to patients across all age groups.

🛠 Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
Assist orthopedic physicians and Client with patient care and procedures.

Perform casting, splinting, bracing, and care of casts, splints, and external fixators.

Apply orthopedic devices safely for patients from infants to geriatrics.

Remove sutures or staples and perform dressing changes.

Obtain patient medical history and prepare rooms and equipment for procedures.

Support patient intake, rooming, and vital documentation in the EMR.

Maintain sterile and orderly treatment areas and exam rooms.

Operational & Administrative Duties
Document nurse notes, medication refills, and visit details in patient charts.

Return patient calls/messages within the same business day.

Assist with patient flow to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Collect and prepare all surgery-required documentation (orders, consents, history).

Prepare and scan surgery charts and clinic documents.

Process DME applications as needed.

Assist with room turnover and supply restocking.

Use office equipment such as computers, scanners, printers, and phones.

Compliance & Safety
Follow all hospital policies and procedures.

Maintain compliance with Eisenhower Health’s Code of Conduct.

Work strictly within the scope of practice.

Stay current with orthopedic techniques, equipment, and continuing education.

Other Duties
Anticipate physician needs during procedures.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

🎓 Education
Required: High School Diploma, GED, or higher

🏅 Licensure & Certifications
Required: Orthopedic Technologist Certification

Required: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred: Prior orthopedic experience
