REPORTS TO: Associate Executive Director / Executive Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the regional nursing team including LVNs, CMAs, and medical coordinators with duties including timekeeping and scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, medication auditing and management, and ensuring all clients receive treatment and care as prescribed by their physician while all codes of ethics are being adhered to while maintaining the organization’s adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. The Nurse Supervisor also follows standards set by the Quality Assurance Director of Nursing services and supports regional providers.
Working days will be: Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Due to the nature of our program and the population we serve, this position will be on an on-call schedule for emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 21 years or older to apply for this position.
Successful completion of the ADP Selective Screening Services background check as well as any other state, federal or company required background/record check.
2+ years experience in a psychiatric nursing facility.
Minimum Education Requirement: Associate of Nursing.
Preferred Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Minimum Credentials: Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Virginia.
Must have prior supervisory experience.
Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology as it relates to the delivery of clinical care to the clients within our programs.
Possess valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by our auto insurance policy which includes, but not limited to, the following requirements: 4 continuous years of driving experience, 21 years of age or older, less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, and no more than 1 major violation in the last 3 years.
CPR/First Aid Certification
Current T.B. clearance
Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a computer/keyboard, use electronic systems, communicate with others through written and verbal formats, ability to sit for long periods of time, listening, reading comprehension, lifting up to 10 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excel at both written and verbal communications to convey essential information; must be able to utilize the proper linguistic syntax and spelling.
Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology as it relates to the delivery of clinical care to the clients within our programs as required by our payers.
Knowledge of the clinical, medical, and miscellaneous services provided to the clients.
Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and G Suite products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise a healthcare team composed of various medical and medical support staff including LVNs, CMAs, and medical coordinators while coordinating schedules, time off requests, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and monitoring the quality of care provided by the nursing and medical coordination team.
Educate, advise, and implement policies and procedures related to infection surveillance, prevention, and control while adhering to all of AMFM’s licensing and accreditation protocols and abiding by National Patient Safety Goals.
Manage prescribed medications while notating times and amounts of medication on patient charts while providing other basic patient care or treatments.
Oversee the medical coordination of client care in partnership with AMFM’s multidisciplinary including clinical, medical, and operations teams.
Maintain the integrity of the medical and clinical record in the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system (Best Notes) by monitoring completion and accuracy of medication incident reports and chart record keeping.
Document client history, progress, and other medical information while communicating as needed regarding medication updates or client presentation.
Observe patients while charting and reporting changes in patients’ conditions.
Measure and record patient vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
Make appointments, keep records, and perform other administrative duties as assigned including inventory and requisition supplies, instruments, medications, and samples.
Act as on-call support for assigned region(s) regarding medical concerns, administrative processes, and intake/discharge support for the nursing and medical teams.
