Providing technical and engineering support for automated industrial machinery and industrial electronic controls.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for training and supervising the mechatronics/controls technician apprentice(s). Will occasionally train and supervise seasonal interns.

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor supports department efforts to assure continuous operation of product manufacturing by performing the following duties personally or through department production employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Producing first quality sheets on the presses.
• Filling and leveling the molds with resin.
• Accurately filling out production reports.
• Thoroughly clean molds and cover plates.
• Housekeeping to include presses, press area, the and vacuum system. All shall be cleaned daily and kept clean throughout shift.
• Remove out of spec material and place in designated area.
• Proper and safe operation of equipment. Press change times should be held to a minimum.
• Remain in work area. Leave area only at break time.
• Clean press pits per Production Supervisor’s schedule.
• Report all problems/challenges with equipment or quality of product to leadman or Production Supervisor immediately.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
The employee is required to be able to operate a forklift, scales, and department production equipment.
