To Whom It May Concern
I am seeking a technical position in your company. I have over 45 years of experience in Information Technology dating back to my college days where I conceived, wrote and maintained an entire client appointment system for the UC Berkeley Counseling Center after 1 Basic programming class.
My skill set over this period is so vast, it was not possible for me to keep current on everything I have ever done. To remedy this issue, I have refreshed my most currently marketable skill sets in MVS, COBOL, IDMS and SQL relational database technologies recently as documented on my resume. I was immersed in these technologies for so long that conceptually, everything I have re-read was just what I remembered. It is not that I needed to relearn any of these technologies as much as all this technical proficiency I possess really never left me.
I am confident that my almost half a century coding, analysis, application administration and problem solving in the diverse fields of technology, finance, manufacturing, banking, insurance and aerospace general business systems will be an asset to your company that you would have difficulty finding in someone else.
